From mid-century modern sculpture on Public Square to murals in the last 5 years, Wilkes-Barre’s downtown is full of art and art organizations. During the July 22 Y Walk Wednesday, Murals and Art Downtown, walk leader Heather Sincavage of Wilkes University’s Sordoni Art Gallery will lead a walking tour learning about past and recent works of art.
Y Walk Wednesdays are free evening walks featuring downtown history, walking and health, architecture, natural areas and new development in Wilkes-Barre. Walks begin promptly at 6:00 pm leaving the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA lobby, 40 West Northampton St. Walks are approximately 90 minutes long and led by volunteer leaders. Registration not required.
