Founded in 1863, the YMCA of Wilkes-Barre focuses on the promotion and coordination of recreational and religious programs in the community. The organization administers a variety of programs for youths and adults. Its Kids Saturday afternoon at the Y program includes swimming, gymnastics, and arts and crafts activities for children up to the age of 10.
