Sunsets on SOMA returns to downtown Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, August 19 from 5pm – 7pm.
WILKES-BARRE — The Diamond City Partnership (DCP) invites the community to Midtown Village, 41 S. Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, for an evening of live music, cold drinks, and good company during Sunsets on SOMA — a free outdoor happy hour in the heart of downtown.
This month’s featured entertainment is The Dishonest Fiddlers, an (almost) acoustic ensemble rising from Northeast Pennsylvania’s vibrant, ever‑growing music collective. They bring strong, ringing harmonies, nimble instrumental fire, and a sound that dances between bluegrass sparkle and jug‑band joy. Dave Brown on guitar/harmonica/vocals, Shawn Caden on Mandolin/Electric Guitar, Corey Woodcock on banjo/pedal steel and Dylan Skursky on bass/vocals.
Grab a drink from Susquehanna Brewing Company, kick back in festive outdoor seating, and challenge your friends to a game of cornhole as the sun sets over South Main Street.
Sunsets on SOMA is part of DCP’s ongoing Downtown Rebound initiative, designed to bring energy, culture and community back into Wilkes-Barre’s core and support the small businesses that make it unique.
“We invite everyone to come out for this free concert and happy hour and then make an evening of it by enjoying dinner at one of Downtown's incredible restaurants," said Gina Miale, event coordinator at DCP. “Sunsets on SOMA is more than just a night out — it’s a showcase of the energy, creativity, and welcoming spirit that define Downtown Wilkes‑Barre.”
This event is proudly presented by Geisinger, with additional support from Visit Luzerne County and Susquehanna Brewing Company.
