Fidelity Bank contributes to Diamond City Partnership’s efforts to help Downtown Wilkes-Barre recover from pandemic impacts.
Wilkes-Barre, PA: June 15, 2023 – The Diamond City Partnership (DCP), Wilkes-Barre’s nonprofit downtown management organization, recently celebrated a corporate contribution from Fidelity Bank, made possible through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Neighborhood Assistance Program/Special Program Priorities (NAP/SPP) Tax Credit Program, which will be used to advance Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s renewal.
Fidelity Bank’s $25,000 contribution supports DCP’s Downtown Wilkes-Barre COVID Recovery Business Retention and Recruitment Program, which is intended to assist with the recovery of downtown businesses that have suffered disproportionate impacts from the pandemic.
The program includes DCP’s College Ambassador Program, which utilizes college interns to assist downtown businesses in broadening their customer base to the local college population.
It also includes the implementation of a data driven business retention and recruitment strategy to address the long-term implications of pandemic-fueled structural changes to the Downtown economy.
“Investing in the areas we serve is a top priority for Fidelity Bank,” said Noelle Krempasky, Vice President and Director of Marketing at Fidelity Bank. “The hardworking and vibrant people of Wilkes-Barre guided us to expand our footprint into the downtown area. We’re overjoyed to be able to give back to the community that has welcomed us so warmly.”
“Successful downtown revitalization is always a partnership,” said DCP Executive Director Larry Newman. “We are grateful for Fidelity Bank’s generous support of our pandemic recovery work, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Downtown Wilkes-Barre business community.”
Representatives of Fidelity Bank recently presented a check in the amount of $25,000.00 to Larry Newman and Shelby Monk of DCP at the Bank’s new Downtown Wilkes-Barre office at 64 North Franklin Street. (Photo: From left - Ryan Nork, Bryanne Caruso, Stephen Pelleschi, Larry Newman, and Shelby Monk)
