In this lesser known but entertaining comedic romp by William Shakespeare, we follow the journey of Helena; a low born ward, and her quest to court the lover of her life: the high-ranking son of a French countess, Betram, who is not interested in her romantically at all. As we examine the difficulties of Helena’s attempts to gain the attention and affection of an otherwise distracted Betram, does she win his affection? Is she cursed forever to fade into the background? Will Bertram ever see Helena as more than a lowly housekeeper? Will this tale of two youths be a story of “what if” or “happily ever after?
