You are invited to attend a vocal tribute to the idea of SHINING LIGHT in all its forms that will be presented on Sunday, March 10th at 3 PM, featuring the 60-voice choir of the Choral Society of Northeast PA with piano and clarinet accompaniment under the direction of interim conductor Dr. Joshua Harper of Wilkes University at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, 35 South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre.

This approximately one hour-long program is free and open to the public, although a free-will offering will be taken.

The concert will feature a series of song settings in celebration of LIGHT that includes Hymn to the Sun by Lili Boulanger, sister of the more well-known Nadia Boulanger; Afternoon On A Hill by Eric Barnum featuring the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay; Come To Me by Stephen Chapman from Songs of Remembrance featuring the poetry of Christina Rossetti; Veni, Sancte Spiritus by Zanaida Robles, a student of Morten Lauridsen, in which the Holy Spirit is urged to come and send RAYS OF LIGHT; Loben den Herren, a chorale by J.S. Bach that proclaims that HE is the LIGHT; For This Joy by Susan LaBarr; Sweet Rivers by Shawn Kirchner; and Sure On This Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen with lyrics from a poem by James Agee.
