My Song in the Night – Concert of Choral Anthems On Light

"Light beyond shadow, Joy beyond tears,
Love that is greater when darkest our fears,
Deeper the peace when the storm is around,
Nearer the Hope to the lost who is found."

- from Light Beyond Shadow by Dan Forest with text by Paul Wigmore

Please join the Choral Society of Northeast Pennsylvania and their new Artistic Director, Dr. Joshua Harper on November 9th at 7 PM for a varied program of short works on the uplifting theme of Darkness into Light, and including two different arrangements of the traditional American folk hymn, My Song in the Night.

The more than 60 voice choir will perform these works accompanied by virtuoso pianist Ron Stabinski, organist Mark Laubach and a string quartet in the beautiful, reverberant sanctuary of St. Stephen's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral. This approximate one hour and fifteen minute concert will be performed without an intermission, and admission is FREE with donations accepted at the door. There will be a reception with cookies and punch afterwards.

"I am not the things my family did.
I am not the voices in my head.
I am not the pieces of the brokenness inside.
I am Light."

"I am not the mistakes that I have made
or any of the things that caused me pain.
I am not the pieces of the dream I left behind.
I am Light."

- from I Am Light with words and music by India Arie Simpson
