The Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA) will host a public informational meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 at the THINK Center about upcoming route changes and new microtransit service.

The route changes are part of LCTA’s recent Transit Development Plan, a process that began in January 2023. The TDP involved a gathering a large amount of information about current LCTA routes; feedback from riders, drivers, stakeholders, and community partners, and a review of population trends and shifts. LCTA released a Draft Plan in May and sought public comment, and the route changes take effect Nov. 11.

LCTA’s new microtransit service – LCTA CONNECTS – is on-demand public transportation where customers can use a smartphone app or call LCTA to request a ride during service hours anywhere within one of three microtransit zones in Luzerne County.

LCTA staff will be at the Intermodal Transit Center with information about the updated routes beginning on Nov. 4. There is also information on LCTA’s web site, lctabus.com
