Creating art has been a lifelong passion for me; starting from when I was a very young person and continuing to the present! In Fall 2020, I started Craig's Canvases to be able to focus on creating my own distinctive artworks on a more full-time basis. I consider myself a multimedia artist as many of my recent orihinal artworks are acrylic on canvas; however, my portfolio is a varied as my experiences and includes other water-based media like water color and gouache, in addition to oils, oil pastels, original prints, India Ink, and sometimes a combination of several in a mixed media or collage artwork. A common theme throughout many of my artworks is "controlled chaos." It's enjoyable to present to the audience: the juxtaposition of bright and vibrant colors against darker and duller oness, smooth painting versus heavily textured areas, smooth color transitions beside hectic and frantic markings. Inspiration for my artwork comes from everywhere and everyone: nature, past destinations and experiences, music, dreams, and my imagination. My artistic styles can very between abstraction, surrealism and realism; many of my artworks merge elements from each into the finished composition.
