King’s College Theatre Department will present our next Mainstage Play "Dracula A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really". Directed by Theatre Adjunct Professor Elizabeth Powers, the production will run Oct 2-4 at 7:30pm, and Oct 4-5 at 2pm in the George P. Maffei II Theatre located in the Mulligan Physical Science Center at 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre.

What happens when women are given the ability to fight against societal norms to reach their true potential? Viewing their femininity as a strength that works in conjunction with their male counterparts to fight against the evil that lurks behind and within "the system". Fighting not only the literal evil of Dracula, but the evil that he represents in society.

"When your survival is at stake… will you be able to distinguish the monster from the man? Both terrifying and riotous, Kate Hamill’s imaginative, gender-bending “feminist revenge fantasy” is like no Dracula you’ve ever seen—exploring the nature of predators and reinventing the story as a smart, disquieting, darkly comic drama. Hamill’s signature style and postmodern wit upend this familiar tale of Victorian vampires."

Performances will be held in the George P. Maffei II Theatre, located in the Mulligan Physical Science Center at 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Tickets are $8–$20, and are Free for current King’s College students with ID. They are available at https://www.onthestage.tickets/kings-college-theatre.
