A complimentary showing of Brave the Dark takes place at the Wilkes-Barre THINK Center in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Hosted by CASA of Wyoming Valley, this special screening features a powerful true story focused on resilience and overcoming childhood trauma.

The film follows Mr. Deen as he discovers his student, Nate, has been living out of his car and has landed in jail. Mr. Deen’s decision to bail Nate out sets in motion an intense journey that moves beyond a single act of kindness, as he tries to help Nate confront his past and push through the struggles that have shaped his life.

Following the screening, attendees can stay for a brief panel discussion featuring the filmmaker, CASA staff, and child advocates. Space is limited, and RSVPs are required. To reserve a seat, guests should contact Angelina Pacheco, CASA of Wyoming Valley’s Development and Communications Manager, at apacheco@luzernecasa.org.
