On Tuesday, July 4, at 8:30 AM, the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA will once again hold one of the largest and longest-running races in our valley. This year, we will celebrate the 41st annual Bernie's Memorial 3-Mile Run/Walk.
Bernie Hargadon, a past YMCA director, prime athlete and originator of this race, passed away from an unforeseen genetic heart condition. Year after year, we grow the race and continue Bernie's dream of a race that is achievable for all. Since its start, it has grown to serve more than 700 runners and their families and friends.
