Details

Based on Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel about her life, Persepolis (2007) follows Marji as she grows into a rebellious, punk-loving teenager during the late 1970s and 1980s in Iran, first before and then after the Islamic Revolution. In the background, mounting political tensions escalate as the Iran/Iraq war breaks out.
