Marleen Troy, professor of environmental engineering, has been selected to deliver the Wilkes University 2023 Paul A. O’Hop Final Word Lecture. Her presentation, “Getting Rid of That Pipe: Transitioning to Sustainable Engineering and Resilient Design,” will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 24 in the Henry Student Center ballroom. It is free and open to the public.

The lecture will review the events that have occurred since the first Earth Day was recognized in 1970 and will look at examples of how the end-of-pipe technologies are transitioning to sustainable engineering and resilient design methodologies. Her lecture will address how sustainable engineering and resilient design are a better strategy for solving environmental problems and creating a responsible and sustainable future for all.
